Policies

Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policies

Course fees and dates subject to change. Lack of a minimum number of students per course may necessitate cancellation of course. For individual students, a minimum of 50% deposit due upon application with balance for all fees for courses due on the first morning of course.

Application Fee once paid will not be refunded. However, if there is any excess payment for any reason whatsoever, the student may file his/her claim with the Maritime Professional Institute of Panama. The necessary verification will be performed and refund will be initiated as per Maritime Professional Institute of Panama guideline and if the claim is found genuine.

No refunds issued 14 days or less prior to star date. The following cancellation/rescheduling policy shall apply. A cancellation or rescheduling of a course fee; with less than forty-five (45) days advance notice will result in a billing of twenty-five percent (25%) of the per course fee; less than thirty (30) days = fifty percent (50%) billing; less than fifteen (15) days = seventy-five percent (75%) billing; and less than seven (7) days = one hundred percent (100%) billing. Any cancellation or rescheduling of courses must be done in writing (Filling in the refund application form (ATTACHED)) Payment will be made in U.S dollars.

Maritime Professional Institute of Panama shall not be responsible for delays resulting from acts of God, strikes, lockouts, disruptions in transportation, employee death, or any other cause that is outside the reasonable control of Maritime Professional Institute of Panama.

The student shall indemnify, provide counsel and hold Maritime Professional Institute of Panama harmless from any and all claims for damages or other judicial or arbitration relief which may be asserted against Maritime Professional Institute of Panama or performing any competency evaluation of said seafarers in  House Training.

Maritime Professional Institute of Panama in not responsible for personal property; such property remains the responsibility of the individual student and shall be safeguarded and secured by the student at all times

We as a merchant shall be under no liability whatsoever in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly out of the decline of the Cardholder having exceeded the preset limit mutually agreed by us with our acquiring bank from time to time.

THE REFUND PAYMENT WILL BE INTO CANDIDATE BANK ACCOUNT DIRECTLY, ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR BANK FEES.

PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Attach Xerox copy of address proof, identify proof of candidate with this letter.
2. Those candidates who paid the payment thru CASH mode, required to provide the original CASH DEPOSIT SLIP.
3. Incomplete application/information will be not accepted for refund process.

REFUND ELEGIBILITY:

1. If medically unfit, please attach copy of doctor´s medical report
2. In case of any other reason, (required proper details along with copy of proof)
